Staring at the blank canvas or expanse of white paper provokes the creative juices to flow. In your mind's eye you can see the multitude of possible creations that can be put there or perhaps you have one very particular goal in mind. Now you pick up your brush, pencil, charcoal or whatever your medium of choice is and create.

As any artist knows you cannot just get any supplies or art sets just anywhere. There is defiantly something to be said about quality supplies. In some cases buying one or two pieces is efficient; however art sets are by far the most economical especially when you are starting out.

Artsuppliesdirect.com has an amazing selection of sets in a variety of mediums so if you are hunting for one or interested in trying several different styles they are the place to go. They have art sets that include a little bit of everything like their Royal & Langnickel Sketching & Drawing Easel Artist Kit, which has 122 pieces in it. The break down goes a little like this: 18 oil paints, 18 watercolors, 18 acrylic paints, 18 oil pastels, 18 watercolor pencils, ...
... 18 pastels, 3 white bristle brushes, 3 taklon brushes, 3 white nylon brushes, 3 plastic palette knives, 2 canvas boards, 1 sketch pad, 1 watercolor pad, 1 wooden palette, 1 plastic 6-well palette, 18 drawing pencils, 1 eraser, 1 sharpener, 2 blending stumps,1 sharpener block and 1 easel artist box. Whew! Sound over whelming- don't let it, they have just put together a well rounded jumping off point for you to discover where your love lies.

Let's say you have been inspired by Bob Ross and want to have a go to oil painting. These paints are beautiful and vibrant and Artsuppliesdirect has several different sets that include anywhere from 6 colors to 24 or more. Most of these set will include basic brushes that will get you through simple pieces and help you learn.

Before you start any project though, you may want to consider getting a proper easel to work on. There are many styles to get some are even included in art sets. There are smaller travel size ones great for taking on hiking trips to table top ones to the grand- daddy of them all the floor standing ones.

Feeling not quite as adventurous then maybe sticking to something less frightening like pencils, pastels or watercolors. Grab a kit like their Sketching Easel Artist Kit with Storage Bag, which has 12 sketching pencils, 3 charcoal pencils, 4 pastel pencils, 8 lead pencils, 8 charcoal sticks, 1 eraser, 1 kneadable earaser,1 two0hole aluminum sharpener, 1 blending stump, 1 sandpaper block, 3 sketch boards, 1 easel, 1 apron (which you will really want when using the charcoals because they get everywhere) and of course 1 13x17 storage bag.
With art sets as amazing as these getting your artistic side a chance to shine is a breeze. But Artsuppliesdirect.com has so much more than kits, so ‘Van Gogh' there and see for yourself!
