The quantum-leap advances in cell phone and Internet technology in recent years have opened up a whole new set of tools for business in the form of mobile streaming of video and audio. With a GPS-enabled 3G or 4G phone, real-time video can go from the field directly to the conference room, not to mention the potential for sporting events, faith-based services, live concerts, social media, live chat or any number of other uses. It’s a far cry from the days of bulky cameras and satellite uplinks (which, in its day, seemed like science-fiction technology itself). And the possibilities are staggering †some developers are even marrying video games and live content together, such as in the Venice Chronicles community. And in particular with mobile streaming, consider the possibilities, with employees in the field keeping in touch with supervisors, or giving clients the chance to be in closer personal touch with their point people inside the company (and working up casual “live marketing sessions” for them).

Of course, with multiple competing formats for mobile streaming ...
... (each one requiring its own software), there’s no “one size fits all” solution for setting up mobile streaming video. Many have found that Flash is one of the media types that show the least propensity toward glitches and offers the highest quality video with the least buffering issues. With any of the systems available from Eyepartner, conferences or other streaming sessions can be recorded, then revisited for training purposes at a later date.

Two of the systems that Eyepartner handles are Camwax and StreamingBASE. Camwax is geared more towards customer interaction, giving customers a chance to speak “face to face” via streaming video and opening up all sorts of new facets of troubleshooting and customer service. Things that could only be described via email before can now be demonstrated hands-on for the customer, and all in real-time with no waiting for responses from either party.

StreamingBASE, on the other hand, is well-suited for internal use. Tasks like conferencing and training are being revolutionized by StreamingBASE, and companies are finding big costs savings in areas like travel and telecom expenses. Now the trainer no longer has to travel to a branch or another location to see new hires, and new hires can be brought fully up to speed on tasks and procedures via mobile streaming. StreamingBASE sessions can be recorded and shared, and offer customized templates and a user-friendly backend interface. Businesses everywhere are getting on the bandwagon and finding solutions to stubborn problems through mobile streaming.

Regardless of which way you go, whether it’s with iPhone systems, Mozzen, Camwax or streamingBASE, one thing’s for certain;video is the way of the future, and mobile streaming for various applications is turning things on their heads quickly. Eyepartner’s knowledgeable staff can help you come up with custom-fit solutions that can revolutionize the way your company does business.
