The iPad brings the New York Times app to life on a clear, large screen display. Looking at the beautiful newspaper has never been better and if this is a trend, it might help mobile users return to news browsing.

4. Flight Control HD
The iPhone’s most addictive and one of its most successful is Flight Control. Now in HD on the iPad, this simple, yet sophisticated game for all ages is a sample of how much fun the iPad can be. Who knew landing planes and helicopters on a 2-D screen could be so much fun?

Though most of these apps could qualify as entertainment, that’s because entertainment, for now, is what the iPad delivers. An entertainment machine like the iPhone, but bigger. More than just a larger iPhone, the iPad opens the door to new ventures in mobile productivity software like Pages. It remains to be seen if productivity really catches on or if entertainment and games dominate as they have on the iPhone.
