Things To 'keep In The Back With You'
Travelling by airport taxi or limo is a great way to go about transportation in the prelude and prologue of your holiday. Here all of the normal stress of navigation, coach or train times and handling large amounts of luggage is left to the driver and all you simply need to do is be present outside your house for the arranged collection time. From here the airport limousine or airport taxi will take you literally from door to door, taking you from wherever you asked to be collected to right outside the terminal you need for your flight. In the meantime you can just relax as though you holiday has already begun.
Doing this though can get a little boring if you don't bring anything to do. Similarly you can just as easily find yourself getting thirsty, getting tired or even getting hungry. Chances are you've brought a fair amount of hand luggage for the plane journey, so the same forethought should be applied to your airport taxi journey - even if it's not as long. When your driver is loading your luggage in to the boot then, ask them if you can keep some items in the back. Here we'll look at some things that can be useful ...
... when using airport transportation.
Firstly you need to care for your basic needs to ensure that you, and any children you are travelling with, are comfortable and happy for the journey. This means packing a blanket for keeping warm, a pillow or cushion for sleeping on should you get the urge, and food and water for the trip. Other things that can help with sleep are an eye mask potentially, a travelling pillow/neck rest and ear plugs which will help you to drown out the noise of the engine and make yourself comfortable in a suit very much not conducive to sleeping in. Make the food something that's easy to snack on in a limo or taxi, and that won't make too much mess or smell. Candidates here include things like bananas (which will give you a great energy boost for the journey), ham sandwiches, chocolate bars or crisps. Water bottles are also very useful, but remember that you will have to discard any un-finished drinks at the airport unless you move them into your suitcase. You can even make the most of being driven by someone else for a change and take alcohol!
Next you should look in to entertainment for the journey, and this is particularly important if you have children. Here the options are multitudinous and you can opt for books, magazines, portable DVD players, handheld games consoles or even small laptops. Another popular item to bring is an MP3 player or CD player, though most airport taxi drivers will be happy to play a CD you bring on their stereo if you can all agree on some tunes to listen to. Some airport taxi drivers will even have a DVD player in the car which you can use and if so they will probably have a selection of DVDs with them. These are the sorts of questions that are worth asking before you book your service.
