Additionally, they need to particulate in services at the synagogue and then set the perfect example for others. Keep reading to know more details about these ceremonies.
Bar Mitzvah ceremony
The bar mitzvah is the ceremony happening around the boy’s 13th birthday. This ceremony is the major part of the service in the synagogue. As soon as a boy started to prepare for this ceremony, ...
... he needs to spend more time studying it and then reads from the Torah. For the first time, he also puts on the tefillin. Next, the rabbi provides a talk to the body and his family as well as the rest of the community.
After that, the body who is getting ready for the ceremony gives the talk to the gathered people. The boy’s father needs to recite the prayer of Thanks to God for bringing his son to maturity. It is the tradition, which everyone should follow. Finally, the boy will receive the gifts from their community people and enjoy the celebratory meal.
Bat Mitzvah ceremony
The ceremony is for the girl child who enters the adulthood. This ceremony is practiced by the reform and liberal Jewish communities. It follows the same pattern as the bar mitzvah. This ceremony is happening around the 12th birthday of the girl child. During this celebration, the girl may read from the Torah or even read the prayer from Siddur.
Within Judaism, males and females are not thought to have similar responsibilities. Due to this, some Jewish communities follow the rules, which are less strict for the girls when compared to the boys. It makes the girl follow the Jews' rules properly and becomes a responsible woman in the community.
