Cooling is an integral part of your computer system. A computer has demanded, such as gaming, which can cause hardware to generate a lot of heat. Overheating components will result in performance issues. The ideal computer has cooling fans, which keep your components cool, allowing your computer to run at optimum.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about a computer getting hot, it's inevitable. Almost every component will generate heat, but when the heat gets too much, it can cause your system to shut down. CPU temperatures that get too high will cause a reduction in performance to reduce the risk of damaging the processor, for example. The protective mechanism can result in performance drops.

The most popular CPU cooler is liquid or air. They offer a range of features and can be used in desktops and laptops, though laptops usually have very sophisticated cooling systems, using air, which is designed for their small chassis. The CPU isn't the only part of your computer that needs cooling. The graphics processing unit (GPU) will also require cooling, which is often pre-installed and comprise of fans. There ...
... are many after-market solutions, such as liquid cooling and custom air coolers. You want to ensure that your CPU and GPU temperatures are made the main priority.

Everything in your PC will create heat when it's being used. Many already have cooling integrated. RAM comes with metal heat sinks, that disperse the heat. Power supplies come with fans and motherboards, also have heat shields. Relocating the heat is just one part of the step to keep the internal components of your computer cool. Heat can get very hot in a short period within the small PC case. When a case isn't properly ventilated, the hot air can cause the system to overheat and cause performance to take a knock.

PC cases should take airflow into account, this can be done by optimizing the fan placement. The majority of PC cases come with fans already pre-installed, which often includes the front, back, and close to the top. The fans vary in design and size. While you may think that computer fans are all created the same, they have different designs for different needs. Static pressure fans are used to push a small amount so fair through a heat sink, while other fans may provide more airflow, moving as much air around the case as possible.

When the computer fan pulls in more air than it expels, it is called positive pressure, where if they expel more air than they can pull in, this is negative pressure. Negative pressure often results in dust being pulled into the system, through any small gaps and vents, which means regular cleaning of the system.
Positive pressure, on the other hand, controls dust, as the air is pushed through the gaps and vents. While dust isn't eliminated, the correct placement of filters can help keep dust at bay.

Having too much positive pressure can also result in too much air being pushed into a small space at once. Ideally, the fans should be balanced to provide positive pressure and reduce the risk of dust build-up. The placement of the hardware within the system also plays a role in how hot the computer will get. Check that all internal cables are neatly placed to reduce any blockages, that will make airflow difficult. Keep your computer case clean.
