Still, in its present form, it cannot solve the knowledge problem in economics because that reducing agency and transaction costs and using network externalities apply to digital governance. Therefore, future research can concentrate on how digitalization is applied for direct democracy by considering the challenges of digital government and identifying which aspects people find problematic when considering a transformation towards digital democracy.
