Here's How Magic Bus Covid Relief Program Secured The Livelihoods Of 2,00,000 Families In India

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to vast social & economic disruption. Countless people lost their jobs, while students found it difficult to receive an education. With individuals losing their jobs, families began sliding into a state of poverty. Various NGOs have established COVID relief programs to secure the livelihoods of financially struggling families.

Magic Bus conducted a survey on the impact of COVID-19 on the families and children of India. About 3700 parents were interviewed for the same and it resulted in the below findings:
Over 73% of the families faced a drop in their income.
55% of households reported having no source of income during the lockdown.
41% of households depended on borrowing money for basic needs.
Sadly, 41% of the parents felt they would be unable to cover education costs.
Only 17% of the students had access to online learning, leaving behind 83% of them without access.

With these findings in hand, Magic Bus commenced a COVID relief program of its own with the name of ‘COVID-19 Crisis Recovery Program.’

... to secure the livelihoods of 2,00,000 families and enable them to invest in their child’s education, keeping them in school and not pulling them out to be a child laborer or become a victim of child trafficking.

A secondary goal for this program is to restore the incomes of 2,00,000 families to have enough nutritious food to eat. On this front, Magic Bus has already provided food and essentials to more than 150,000 people across the country.

Our young leaders and employees have been working in crisis zones in rural and urban locations across India to ensure children and their families are well taken care of in the wake of the pandemic.

To restore the incomes of families living in the rural areas, Magic Bus has been ensuring linkages to government support schemes to fight the aftermath of COVID-19. After all, the economic recovery of families will help to recover the Indian economy after COVID-19.

The pandemic has introduced various restrictions, making life difficult for many. Although news stations have stopped putting light on the increasing number of infected cases, authorities have put immense effort into gaining control. COVID relief programs from private and government sectors are on a mission to support the needy and retain the economy.
