Microsoft is looking to change Calibri by allowing users to choose from the five other options. The font has been the default Office font since 2007.The American technology company Microsoft is looking to change the default font for Office, Calibri. It will be one of its most significant updates over the years. Microsoft announced it on April 28 as the multinational technology company is willing to give a fresh look to its Office products.Changing the default Office font will be a big deal for people using MS Office apps in their day-to-day life. However, changing the default font will not bring any difference in the functionality of the Office app.People have been using Calibri for the last fourteen years as it has been the default Office font since 2007. It is working perfectly and not causing any issue. Still, Microsoft seems in a mood to change it.The multinational technology company has expressed its desire to change the font in a blog post. The company says in the blog post it is doing everything to give Office a chance to evolve. According to Microsoft, default fonts can’t be remarkable if the impression they ...
... make will be absent. As users, people seldom give default fonts much attention, which proved to be their most incredible gift.Further, Microsoft says users can jump right into the creative process when a font blends into the user experience background. It helps them stay grounded in their creative thoughts rather than thinking about the form their thoughts take. The company says Calibri has excellently served the users since its implementation in 2007. Now, as the world, people, and everything around us grow and age,  so it is time for our modes of expression also to change. No doubt, Calibri worked amazingly and proved to be a good fit for Office, but now Microsoft looks set to try something new.default office fontThe New Fonts Microsoft Is Considering To Choose FromIt is worth noting that the company is not deciding to change the default font lightly, as evident from the way it is choosing the new Office font. Microsoft has selected five brand new fonts as contenders for the default fonts.  It has asked the people to share their input and thoughts on Twitter regarding the new fonts. Microsoft will take all comments and thoughts into consideration in the coming months. Eventually, it will use this feedback to choose the best new default font for Office. As the first font, the company has chosen Tenorite. It is created by Wei Huang and Erin McLaughlin and has the most traditional style among the five fonts. Tenorite has broad accents, characters, and precise punctuation and looks like the modern version of Times New Roman. Its clear and more prominent punctuation and accents will make it easy for the users to read even on the tiniest screens.Bierstadt has been created by Steve Matteson and inspired by the Swiss typography prevalent in the mid-20th century. Its strokes endings are apparent, making the font readable and giving it a bit more flair. Microsoft has chosen Skeen as the third font to be a contender of the default Office font. The company says that it is the best used in short messages, including reports, brochures, etc., and longer documents.Skeena belongs to the sans serif family and has modulated strokes that create a contrast between thin and thick, and a distinctive slice has been applied to strokes of many of its strokes.  The fourth content for Office default font is Seaford, created by Tobias Frere-Jonas, Fred Shallcrass, and Nina Stossinger. It belongs to old-style sans serif typefaces and invokes the classic old-style.Microsoft has noticed that its asymmetric and organic forms emphasize the difference between letters and make the word shapes more recognizable, thus helping users read conveniently.  It seems designers have taken inspiration from old armchairs to get the practical way to bring a valued and classic font to life. The font is remarkably comfortable for reading long documents.Last but not least, Grandview is the fourth contender for the default Office font. It is created by Aaron Bell and seems to be inspired by the classic German railway and road signage. Moreover, it has excellent readability. It seems that the font will work well in PowerPoint Slides mainly.Amidst all, the users can access and see all these five fonts through the cloud right now. The company can decide on the fonts in the coming months after evaluating people’s feedback and thoughts.Meta DescriptionGet the latest details about Microsoft changing the default Office font that includes the new sans serif fonts featuring various styles from modern to traditional.Hello, I am Blanche Harris.
