➔ Click on the Next button to continue.

➔ Tap on the Install now button. Choose Repair your computer link to open WinRE.

➔ Click on the Choose an option screen and click Troubleshoot option to see the Advanced options screen.

➔ On the same screen, select Command Prompt.

➔ Follow steps 6,7,8, and 9 to backup your data to an external drive on your PC.

Using Redo Backup and Recovery Tree
You can also use third-party bootable backup tools to restore your data on your PC. Third-party tools like “Redo Backup and Recovery” are bootable software that allows users to ...
... backup data, files, documents free from unbootable computers. To use this, download the software and restore files.

Recover files when Windows 10 is unbootable
If you plan to recover data to an external drive, connect an external USB drive to your PC.

➔ You will get the WinRE or Automatic Repair screen.

➔ Click on the Advanced options button.

➔ Tap on the Choose an option screen and click Troubleshoot.

➔ On the same page, click Advanced options to proceed to the same.

➔ Click Command Prompt.

➔ On the Command window, type notepad.exe and tap the Enter key to launch Notepad or WordPad.

➔ On the Notepad window, select the File menu and click the Open option to see the Open dialog.

➔ Click on the file that you want to restore to an external or internal drive on your PC.

➔ Open your PC and search the folder.

➔ C:\Users\UserName\Desktop

➔ C:\Users\UserName\Documents

➔ Then, copy the file and paste it where you would like to backup all your files or data. If you want to restore the file on an external drive, click right on the file. Select Send and click on the external drive in the menu.

Uninstall non-booting Hard Drive
You need to remove the hard disk from the system to install it on another device. All the process depends on model, form factor, and build. You also need to remove a mounting mechanism if it is a 2.5-inch drive or have tools like Torx 5 Point screwdriver or flat head screwdriver.

Connect USB
You can connect the drive to your computer. When the drive is turned on, the system will automatically locate the drive and install it. You need to search the USB on the search bar or can get it from File Explorer.

Recovering the Data
Browse the hard drive and copy the data to the hard drive. The installed drive is still protecting the folders. Now browse the user folder and proceed to copy data to the hard drive. When you have recovered all your data from the hard drive, you can format the drive. You only need to remember the common locations where data is stored, like :\Users and C:\Users\Public.

Download Recoverit
You can also recover data or files on your Windows 10PC using Recoverit software. It is software that allows users to restore files. You only need to download the Recoverit and follow the below steps.

➔ Download the Recoverit on your system.

➔ Connect a USB/CD/DVD to your device and launch Recoverit.

➔ Choose the Recover from Crash Computer option to create a bootable drive to recover data.

➔ Choose the bootable device like CD/DVD/USB and click on Create option to proceed.

➔ Confirm the data that you want to backup before formatting.

➔ It will take some time to create a bootable device and follow the next steps to restore your data or files.

➔ Once the bootable media is ready, set your device to BIOS.

➔ Restart your computer and enter BIOS with the BIOS function keys.

➔ Press the keys like F2, F12. F10, or Delete.

➔ Once the booting is complete, Recoverit will launch automatically on the system.

➔ Copy and paste the files that you want to restore from a hard drive and recover it on the system.

Pick up the Disk and put it on another PC
Switch off your computer or laptop, open your system’s back cover, and carefully remove the hard drive. Now, remove the hard drive from the system very carefully and connect it with another computer.

If your system is under warranty already, then take your system to a service center.

If your system warranty has expired, use another method to extract data from the hard drive.

Using Third-party application
You can also restore data or files on your system using third-party applications. You need to download a third-party application to restore the files.

➔ Download DiskInternals software on your system.

➔ The software will take you in the right direction, and you need to select a disk. Also, determine which files you want on priority during scanning.

➔ Click on the scanning.

➔ Review files option that appears at the upper left corner.

➔ You need to enter the license key to your software to export.

Conclusion

There are many options for you to restore files or data when Windows 10PC doesn’t boot. You can use USB, Hard Drive, DiskInternals, Recoverit, and more. You can use these options at any time, and it is free of cost. You don’t need to pay a single rupee to restore or backup data on Windows 10PC.
