You are probably aware that you can buy kief online in Canada. But what is kief?

When looking at a marijuana flower, you can see small, shiny, sticky crystals. These are called trichomes and are small resin glands.

These glands contain most of the cannabis plant's cannabinoids, essential oils, and other active compounds that give the plant its flavour and potency.

You can also see a shimmery powder on your marijuana flowers, which is an accumulation of trichomes. This powder is the flower's pollen, also referred to as kief.

Can You Buy Kief Online in Canada?

Wax and oils are two examples of popular cannabis concentrates, and you can put kief in both.

Make sure to use reputable sites if you decide to buy kief online in Canada. However, there is no need to buy it separately. If you use a grinder when preparing your flowers, you might have noticed a fine powder in the bottom chamber. This powder is pure kief.

Are They the Same? ...
... Kief Versus Hash

So, the answer is no, kief and hash are not the same thing. Kief is used when making hash.

Quality kief is naturally loaded with cannabinoids and is extremely potent on its own. However, making hash out of kief is relatively easy and does not require any special tools. All you need are the following items:

Parchment paper
Kief
A mason jar filled with boiling water
Oven mitt or gloves
Scissors
A butter knife or plastic card such as a bank card

Place some parchment paper (about letterhead size) on a table. We recommend that you use some tape to keep it in place.
Place a smaller sheet of parchment paper on top, about the size of a paperback book.
Pour your kief in the center of the smaller sheet of parchment paper.
Grab your card or butter knife and shape it to a neat square.
Fold the smaller sheet to cover your kief. Use the scissors to remove excess paper; you want it to cover the kief without having multiple paper layers.
Grab the jar filled with hot water. This is where the oven mitt might come in handy as the jar will be hot.
Roll the jar back and forth over your parchment paper-covered square. Apply pressure and keep rolling for around 10 minutes.
Place the kief square in the freezer for an hour.
Enjoy!

Hash it Out

Kief can be used for many things and consumed in several ways. Used on its own, or produced into cannabis concentrates such as wax, oil, hash, edibles, and infused beverages. It can also be vaporized, or you can just straight up smoke it.

Wait until the end if you add kief to hot drinks or baked goods. Exposure to hot temperatures for an extended time may reduce the quality of your kief.

Try sprinkling it on top of warm chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven or mix with room-temperature warm coconut oil. The oil can then be added to warm rather than hot beverages whenever you feel like it.
