To keep the online account safe, users must keep their privacy strong. Right now every online account requires a username or email address with a password for access. But sometimes it’s not enough to keep an account safe, which is why now companies provide Two-Factor Authentication service.

Two-Factor Authentication is just like a second layer of security to keep accounts protected. If any account is enabled with Two-Factor Authentication, it becomes tough for those who try to access the user’s account without permission. There are a lot of apps and service accounts that offer the Two-Factor Authentication feature to keep the user’s account safe. So here are the apps that provide Two-Factor Authentication to keep the account safe.

Instagram

Instagram is a popular Social Media platform that added Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in 2017. Adding 2FA to Instagram was such a brilliant move by the company, and now while accessing Instagram accounts on the Web or app, users have to go through 2FA. To activate 2FA on Instagram, users have to go to Settings>Security>Two-Factor Authentication. ...

After doing it, users will have to enter their personal mobile number in which they will receive a verification code. After entering the verification code on the app, users will activate their 2FA. So while login into the Instagram account, users have to enter the verification code to access the account. The verification code is different every time and each verification code is valid for a few minutes.

Facebook

Facebook is also a popular social media platform just like Instagram. The Facebook Web version and app version are very different from each other. From the page layout to features, everything is separate. However, if any user activates 2FA on Facebook, they have to enter the verification code in both places to use the account. To activate 2FA on Facebook, users have to go into Settings & Privacy>Settings>Security and Login and enable Two-Factor Authentication.

Amazon

To activate 2FA, users must log in to their Amazon account first, and go into the Account & Lists section, and open Account. A Login & Security option will appear there in which users will find a Two-Factor Authentication option to activate. In the following 2FA section, users will have to type their registered contact number to get the verification code. Without entering the verification code, users won’t be able to log in to their Amazon account.

Google

Activation of 2FA in Google is pretty easy. Users simply need to open Google 2-Step Verification page and press Get Started. On the following page, users will have to provide their personal number. Google will send a verification code on the number instantly and users will have to enter the number in the verification section to activate 2FA.

Twitter

Open the Twitter app and click on the three vertical dots at the top-right side of the display, and the security and privacy tab will open. Go into the Account>Security>Two-Factor Verification to activate it. While activating 2FA, users will have to provide their personal number in which they will receive a verification code. While login Twitter account, entering a verification code is necessary, and without entering the code, users won’t be able to access their account.

Conclusion

Two-Step Authentication is a major part of security. Any user who wants to keep their account safe must enable 2FA. The great thing about 2FA is that it asks for a mobile number or email address to register and verification codes are sent on any of these. After entering the email address and password, users have to type a verification code to access the account that is secured under 2FA.
