5 Ways To Surprise Your Kids On Their Birthday

We all love surprises, don’t we? Especially as kids, not knowing what to expect when a surprise is mentioned. And then that huge gasp we let out when it’s finally revealed. Kids are clearly fans of surprises, no matter how big or small and especially when it’s their birthday. Whether it is at indoor party places for kids or a fun family trip to an amusement park - as long as it’s a surprise, your kid is bound to be twice as excited for it.
Here are a couple of ways you could surprise your little one, making their birthdays special-
Waking up to Balloons
If there’s a time when your kid wants to be surprised, it’s right when they wake up. And make sure it’s extra special so that it leaves a smile on their faces, setting the benchmark for the entire day. It could be their favourite breakfast in bed, or even yet, fill up their entire room with balloons. Blow them up while your little balls of sunshine are fast asleep and cover the floor with them, but make sure they do not wake up during the tedious process. The moment they wake up in the morning, their faces are ensured to be lit up with joy, confusion ...
... and amazement seeing all the colourful balloons around the room.
Sleepover Surprise
You could grab your kid’s group of friends and organize a sleepover party for them. Pretend it’s an early night for your little one the day before their birthday, and get them to bed early no matter how many fits they throw at you. Don’t forget to ask their parents permission to sneak their kids in for the surprise. And once it’s all set, all you have to do is wait till the clock hits 12 am.
A Surprise Dinner Party
If you want to go the traditional route, a fun lunch/dinner party always does the trick, especially if it’s a surprise party. Pick a restaurant, remember it needs to have a dish or cuisine your child absolutely loves. You can never go wrong with pizza if your kid doesn’t really have a favourite. You’ll find several pizza places for birthday parties as well. Similar to the sleepover, plan it with their friends and your family beforehand and have them turn up at the restaurant you’ve picked. After everything’s prepped up, all they have to do is jump up and scare your little ones’ wits out.
No School Today
Let’s be honest here, none of us really liked waking up early in the morning, dressing up and going to school half asleep. So it’s probably the same for your kids, and if there’s one surprise they’re bound to love, it’s no school on their birthday! Make sure they aren’t missing out on an important test beforehand though.
A Special Treasure Hunt
Gifts are most definitely the highlight of every birthday, and they’re surprises by default as well. Unless you haven’t gift-wrapped them, or they already know what they’re getting. You can make the gift-giving time extra fun by planning a fun little game around it. It’s one of those simple birthday party games for kids, a treasure hunt! Hide the gift in a secure area and create fun and easy clues that lead to the spot. That’ll make the gift a lot more tempting and fun as well.
