Windows Hello is another feature developed by Microsoft to save their customer’s data and privacy. Windows Hello works differently where users don’t need to enter their password or create a PIN. Instead of a password, your biometric data will play a different role in logging in to your system. Windows Hello will recognize your face, heartbeat, and iris, or if they matched with your set password, you would be allowed to log in to your system.

Windows Hello works on Windows 10 that uses a near-infrared imaging camera or fingerprint reader instead of entering a password to recognize you. This feature keeps the device safe and secure from any unwanted activity like hacking, malware, etc.


What is ‘Windows Hello’?
Windows Hello is a feature launched in 2015 by Microsoft, and most Laptop, Tablet, and, PC has built-in Windows Hello Feature. If you want to take advantage of Windows Hello, you need to buy a new system because most of the devices now come with a built-in Windows Hello feature. Also, Microsoft Surface Computers comes with Windows Hello.

Steps to Setup and use Windows Hello
Open the Settings app.
Then, click on Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options.
Under Sign-in options, you will see many options, and click on Windows Hello PIN.
At Windows Hello PIN, click on Add.
Click on Next and enter Microsoft Account Password.
After entering the Windows Hello PIN, click OK.
Now, you can use Fingerprint and Face Recognition features depending upon the options available on your system.
Note– You need to create Windows Hello PIN, including numbers and symbols.

Note– To use the Face Recognition and Fingerprint features, you also need to create a PIN first.

RSA SecurID Access Authenticator is a mobile application that allows your mobile to authenticate and log in to Windows Hello. It can work remotely, and you can tap on your device to log in to the Windows Hello device. This app also allows you to use biometric or to enter a PIN.

Connect Companion Deceive to Window Hello
You can connect a companion device to your Windows 10PC using Local Group Policy Editor, and the Group Policy Editor is available in Enterprise, Windows 10 Pro.

Open Local Group Policy Editor on your system.
Then see the steps: Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components> Microsoft Second Authentication Error.
Double-click on Allow companion device for secondary authentication.
Click on Not Configured or Enable.
Click OK.
To Disable Companion App
Choose above all four steps.
Click on the Disabled icon.
Select OK.

You don’t need to set a password or create a PIN to sign in to the system. Also, many companion devices work for Windows Hello and provide you with log in to your system remotely.
