User data and privacy is a primary concern nowadays. People that are using a Laptop, smartphone, or any other computer device are sharing user data with companies. Indeed, it is quite difficult to secure data from internet trackers, and even Apple users are unimmune from it. But recently, Apple has made tremendous improvements in its privacy policies.

It’s an excellent opportunity for users to strengthen their iPhone, iPad, and Mac’s privacy for users. Users can now control their device’s data and restrict apps to track data. Additionally, users can now choose which app can track data and which can’t. So now, if you’re interested in restricting apps, and disable personalized and location-based ads, here’s the guide.

Turn Off Personalized and Location-Based Ads
Turn Off Personalized Ads
Open Settings on your iPhone.
Scroll down and move into the Privacy section.
Slide down and press the Apple Advertising option.
Turn off the Personalized Ads button.
Turn Off Location-Based Ads

Open Settings on your iPad and iPhone.
Scroll down and move into the ...
... Privacy section.
Press Location Services.
Turn off Location Services.
If you want to make changes over the location services for any particular app such as Maps, App Store, you choose options between While Using the app, Never, or Ask Next Time. If there’s an app you don’t want to track your location, you can select Never. But apps like Find My will track location temporarily when you use its services.

So many third-party shopping, food, browsing, and similar categories of apps track users’ location and data and use them for market purposes. You can take your device’s privacy to the next level by following all these above-mentioned steps. Furthermore, if you’re willing to improve your browser privacy, here’s the guide for you.

Block Cookies, Cross-Site Tracking in Safari Browser
If Safari is your default or preferred browser, you can make things to make it more safer.

Open Settings on your iPad or iPhone.
Scroll down and tap on the Safari app.
Choose the Privacy & Security option.
Toggle On Prevent Cross-Site Tracking.
Toggle On Block All Cookies.
Turning on the Prevent Cross-Site Tracking will block or stop third-party data providers and advertisers from tracking you while browsing over a website. On the other hand, Blocking All Cookies will prevent your browsing data from getting collected. Websites that collect cookies send them to companies and start to show you ads based on them.

So make sure you turn on all these Safari Privacy & Security options to make your browsing safe and convenient. Once you do this, the website you browse won’t track you or will be unable to collect your data. However, some sites won’t allow you to visit or open if you keep cookies blocked.

Turn Off Background App Refresh
Open Settings on your iPad or iPhone.
Move into the General tab.
Press Background App Refresh.
Now under the Background App Refresh tab, you’ll see a list of installed apps.
Press the Background App Refresh option and choose between Off, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi & Cellular Data.
You can also choose any individual app and turn off background refresh for it.

Selecting the Off option in the Background App Refresh option will stop background refresh for every app while choosing Wi-Fi will only refresh background apps over Wifi. You can totally control which app should run in the background and which shouldn’t. Apps like iCloud backup and Google Photos run in the background and create a backup of data, so if you turn off background refresh, these apps won’t be able to take a backup of your data.

Conclusion
The great thing about the new privacy feature in iPad and iPhone is that users can choose which apps they want to run in the background. The new features in the Safari browser and Privacy section will keep users’ browsing and app data protected.
