However, they all play special roles and have been defined differently. Generally, we as a reader know how to distinguish books based on their genres, we know where and when to read fiction, what non-fiction can be consists of or where to find novels related to romance or thriller. However, similarly, these books publishers categorize themselves accordingly as per their specializations.

This brief article has considered information about those various types of book publishing companies.

1. Trade Publishers

This is the widest-ranging term in the section of books publishing categories. Trade publishers generally deal in the traditional books having huge readers and with a good dose of market demands. They mostly get hold of the right to sell and publish copies of the books. These trade publishers monitor various books formats ...
... including hardcover, trade paperback, mass market paperback, e-books, and audiobooks. There are couples of trade book publishers that are parts of larger media entities or may also own educational textbook publishers.

2. Academic Book Publishers

Academic publishers are also known as Textbook publishers; they are publishers of academic and educational textbooks. They have been recognized well in dealing with classroom syllabus or university books. They get professional orders from schools, universities, educational coaching centres etc.

Academic Book publishers also deal with books in various formats in addition to, hardcover, trade paperback, mass market paperback, e-books, and audiobooks.

3. Book Packagers

Book packagers are also known as Book Developers, as they generally add graphics and designs to the books. Book Packagers are the companies often working under trade publishers and do not get royalties on the book cover, probably this is why these kinds of book publishing companies remain mysterious to the book readers.

There are multiple books that need images and inserted graphics. Book Packagers are someone who develops an idea of the image concept and then polish the edit of a production part for the books and then ships the books to the final publishers or warehouses to sell.

4. Hybrid Book Publishers

These categories of book publishers generally help out their authors in their in-house editorial proficiency and distribution support and then they both (Author and Hybrid Book Publishers) share the profits after the sale of books. Having said that, these hybrid book publishers lie in between self-publishing companies and traditional publishing companies.

5. Professional Publishers

Professional Publishers are those who publish reliable content in either format; they are basically or generally restricted to books related to accountancy, architects, doctors, lawyers and psychologists. They focus on the quality and reliability of the published information, dealing in various formats in addition to digital and e-books also, professional publishers fundamentally restrict themselves to professional readers who need access to reliable, widely accepted information and customaries.

CONCLUSION

The publishing houses aren’t constrained to one category; they work according to the specialization and genres. There are multiple digital publishing companies working behind offering professional content or self-help publishers running to offer aid to authors, on the other hand, the naive or new authors can also take the help of book packagers or book developers to add graphics or pictures to the books.
