Poker rankings refer to five-card combinations that you are expected to put together during the poker card game. In community card games like Texas Holdem and Omaha, the poker hands' concept gets more valuable since you cannot win the pot until you have the best combination. The strategies you use in the calculations you make all depend on the strength of your cards. Let us now rank the ten poker hands from top to down.
Royal Flush
The rarest of all poker rankings is also the most powerful of all poker hands - the Royal Flush. This combination is unbeatable, and having it makes you the king of the game. To form the Royal Flush, you must have the King, Queen, Jack, and Ace of one suit.
Straight Flush
When you play poker online with an incredible amount on the line - this is a combination you would love to have. The Straight Flush is known as a lesser version of the Royal Flush because of its form. To form this ...
... hand, you must have five cards from the same suit in sequential order.
Four of a Kind
The third-most mighty sequence in poker is known as the Four of a Kind. Much like the name suggests, this combination is made when you have four cards of the same rank.
Full House
With the Full House, we enter the mid-range poker sequences. This hand is a combination of two other poker hands - the Three of a Kind and the Pair. So, to form this hand, you must have three cards of the same rank and two other cards of the same level.
Flushes are known to win most games; they are rare and handy. To form this sequence, you must have five cards from the same suit regardless of their order.
Straights are also famous for winning most casual games - this is a sequence you do not wish to miss on. The Straight is formed when you have five cards in sequential order regardless of their suits.
Three of a Kind
With this sequence, we enter the last few combinations. They aren't the strongest, but they're helpful, nonetheless. Much like the name suggests, you must have three cards of the same rank to have this hand.
Two Pair
The Two Pair is formed when you have two cards of the same rank paired and two other cards of the same level.
When you have only two cards are sharing the same rank, that leaves you with the Pair.
High Card
Lastly, we have the High Card, which is the worst of all poker rankings. This combination is formed when your hand does not match any of the other sequences. It is suggested that you fold this hand since it has no chance to win.
We hope this blog helped you learn the ten different poker rankings as we ranked those sequences from top to down in importance. Knowing and recognising poker hands is crucial for you as a novice; ensure you do not skip your basics.
