Tech geeks and media junkies across the net are abuzz about HTML5. The technology promises to alter the Internet browser experience and change the way we surf. For many it could be described as a consciousness expanding experience. How we experience the Internet will change. Many people are asking what HTML5 means for streaming. At EyePartner.com, we’re interested too, but we’re not waiting to see how HTML5 will change streaming and what HTML5 streaming will be, we’re ready for it.

HTML5 will change how we stream and view media depending on which video codecs it supports. Each browsers uses different video coding to watch Internet videos. Some browsers natively support both standards. At EyePartner, one might think what HTML5 supports matters to the success of the exceptional HD streaming products offered. HTML5 is not important because our streaming software comes prepared for multiple codecs.

Our Monster Encoder makes it all simple. It encodes to any format to be uploaded anywhere. That takes a lot of the guesswork when it comes to HTML5 streaming and means that ...
... our products are made for change. Should changes occur beyond the products, the Monster encoder has the capability to be expanded to meet a business’s needs. Should the codecs be tweaked, our support solutions teams have the ability to fix that. With Monster encoder, whether you’re using TikiLive streaming or Streaming Base, the solution to HTML5 streaming will always be there.

The conversation about HTML5 revolves around two main codecs, OGG and H.264. The latter is more universal in the web and more likely to continue to be the accepted standard, as it already is on most desktop, laptop and mobile computing systems. H.264 is also decoded on most computers and is supported by EyePartner.com software. As it stands to reason, HTML5 streaming will most likely occur in H.264 video encoding since it’s supported by most computers.

HTML5 is expected to streamline streaming in many ways. By creating a consistent format and by being natively accepted in web coding and browsers, the speed boost from streaming video is expected to be exceptional. With that said, HTML5 has yet to adopt a streaming tag for video, which limits the ability of live and streaming video to be used. The lack of a single standard means competition over streaming programs and encoding software adopted by browsers will be high. Going back to Monster encoder, the streams produced can be encoded in each format and streamed to different users, creating an optimized experience for users of all browsers, no matter the difference in encoding format.

The web is moving more and more to video, streaming video and live video chat, which are the kinds of capabilities the EyePartner.com software solutions brings to businesses and individuals users. HTML5 streaming isn’t there yet, but it should expand the capabilities of the software to reach greater audience and in turn create better revenue streams. EyePartner.com software specializes in monetizing or adding commodity value to Internet media. While HTML5 prepares to change the browsing and web developing experience, the streaming software should be compatible with multiple formats, and that’s what you’ll find at EyePartner.com.
