BBA and Bcom are two very popular undergraduate degrees amongst students in India. Both of them are 3-year courses. The two courses are very different and will prepare you for different roles in the corporate world. While there is no clear answer whether one is superior to the other, there are various pros and cons to selecting either course. The best BBA colleges in Bangalore, Pune, and other big cities in India offer a great selection of courses that will prepare you for a successful corporate career.

BBA overview
A BBA course's main objective is to help the student develop managerial skill, a strong business acumen, and intellectual ability through business education. Leadership and communication skills are stressed in this course, as they are two qualities every good manager should have. Let us take a look at the subjects that are generally included in a BBA course.

Principles of Management
Corporate Strategic Management
Business Economics
Business Communication
Marketing Management
International Business Management
Sales and Distribution Management
Operations ...
... Management
Project Management
Leadership and Communication
Industrial Relations
Business Decision Making

BCom overview
The BCom degree focuses on Commerce and related subjects. Unlike the BBA degree, which focuses on management and business administration, BCom has a slightly broader syllabus that covers many different topics. The program is designed in such a way that it imbibes managerial skills, business acumen, financial literacy, analytical skills, and leadership skills in the student. Here are some of the subjects commonly included in a BCom course-

Principles of Accounting
Introduction to Business
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Marketing Management
Business Environment
Information Systems
Foundation Mathematics
Statistics
Organizational Behaviour
Finance
Human Resources Management
Operations Management
Strategy and Decision Making

Key differences between BBA and BCom
BCom courses are generally more mathematics and statistics oriented, and you should be apt at crunching numbers if you plan on selecting this course. When you apply for a BCom course, you are required to have selected mathematics as a subject in 12th grade. In comparison, this is not the case for BBA courses.

A BBA course is seen as more of a stepping stone towards getting a prestigious MBA degree. An MBA degree will qualify you for high-paying management jobs in the corporate sector. A BBA degree by itself will not enable you to get a great job. Common roles of BBA graduates include Business Analyst, Research Analyst, Sales Executive, etc. Therefore if you are looking to secure a decent job right after graduating with an undergraduate degree, a BCom degree might be a more prudent choice.

BCom graduates have a lot more technical knowledge than BBA graduates. Hence they are able to secure better jobs right after graduating. Some of the common roles of BCom graduates include Accountant, Consultant, etc.

If your overall aim is to procure an MBA degree, then BBA is a great choice for you.

Conclusion
All in all, both of these courses are great options for Business studies and Commerce students. Top 10 BBA Colleges in Bangalore and other big cities in India offer some excellent courses.
