You have been out running errands and when you return to your car, you find that someone has neatly kissed your car. What's more the kisser is nowhere in sight and an insurance claim isn't feasible since your deductible is higher than the cost of the repair!! For smaller dings you can use a touch-up brush but for bigger car bumper scuff repairs, only a can-spray can cover it up. If you can find the exact paint, which is the colour of your car, then it's good. Otherwise, go to a hardware store which stocks spray paint and get the nearest matching colour. Though the work itself is very simple, the preparations and the basic work are tedious and have to be thorough.
Begin with sanding the damaged area well. Don't rub it for too long or you will create an uneven surface. Spray on the primer with a gently sweeping motion. Apply several coats and let each coat dry before spraying on a new layer. Once you have applied the primer, it's time to apply the colour. Follow the same procedure as for the primer. Take care to remove the drips and bubbles which are formed ...
... during the spraying. End with a light feathering to blend the edges. In case you need a finer finishing, use a filler.
But for bigger dings, SMART or small to medium area repair technology is the new way to make the car bumper scuffs , dents and scratches disappear from your car like magic. They are also equally effective in alloy wheels repairs . The cost of SMART repairs is much less than the cost of traditional methods of repair. They include repairs with plastic replica of the original surface structure, such as burn marks, drill holes in the dashboard; push out or pull out of dents in sheet metal with special tools (Paintless Dent Repair); paint repair using Spot-Repair; upholstery repair with the best possible reproduction of the original colour scheme; glass repair, such as rock falls outside the main field of view of the windshield. All these are done without the slightest trace of the initial damage remaining behind.
Alloy wheels repair or car bumper scuff repairs are cosmetic repairs for refinishing for your car. It turns around the look of the damaged car, making it look new. There are many companies specialising in SMART Repairs and it is worth the while to use their services for your kissed car.
