How To Prepare Newspaper Editorial For Upsc Cse
Editorials given in important newspapers like The Hindu and Indian Express are beneficial for UPSC CSE preparation. They help in forming views on a particular issue or topic. It's also important for improving English and writing practice.
They help in prelims preparation as it enhances our skill of solving reading comprehension asked in CSAT 2. Editorials are generally lengthy. Students are supposed to extract its crux and make notes. This skill is useful for solving reading comprehension where many times they ask the logical inference of the given passage. They also help in Personality Test as editorials give an overall idea of an issue and its various dimensions, possible implications, examples from India and abroad. These dimensions help in making a good understanding of issues, knowing various positive and negative impacts of the issue for various groups, and thus forming a just view.
