Mulethi Water
Mulethi is known for its expectorant qualities that can help loosen the mucus inside your body. It can reduce the congestion inside your airways and ease your coughing. All you need to do is to add a teaspoon of powdered mulethi to a cup of hot water.
Garlic
This is a common and simple remedy that will help you fight off fever and cold. You might have seen your parents or grandparents use it plenty of times. You can eat crushed garlic cloves directly or take them with your food. The antibacterial properties it has make it a perfect foe for flu and cold.
Cinnamon Tea
Cinnamon is not just another aromatic spice. It is a sort of antibiotic which will give you instant relief from fever and cough. You can easily prepare cinnamon tea by adding a bit of cinnamon powder to your typical black tea. Cinnamon also has anti-inflammatory qualities which can give some much-needed reprieve to your sour throat.
Tulsi Kadha
A hot cup of ayurvedic tulsi kadha will get rid of your fever and cold and at the same time boost your general immunity. The ingredients of this hot beverage include ...
... tulsi with anti-bacterial properties and black pepper and clove which act as expectorants.
Pippali Churna
Similar to Mulethi, Pippali also has expectorant properties. It will loosen the mucus in your throat and you will be able to breathe freely once you are able to spit it out. You can make Pippali Churna by mixing a pinch of Pippali with a teaspoon of organic honey.
Ginger
Over the centuries, Ayurveda has recommended ginger for people who are more susceptible to infections. It can help fight bacterial infections and reduce any swelling inside your body. You can make ginger a part of your diet or consume it in the form of ginger tea or ginger lime.
Honey
No ayurvedic remedy list is complete without honey in it. Apart from its antimicrobial properties, it can comfort your sore throat too. As it is an effective cough suppressant, you would sleep much better if you have a spoonful of honey before going to bed.

It is true that you cannot fight the viruses that cause cold and fever. But, with these ayurvedic remedies by your side, you can wage a war against the ailments that could trouble you. Next time you see the first signs of the incoming flu, make sure that you have a hot cup of ayurvedic kadha for fever and cold relief.
