How to Create a Desktop Icon

Soon after, a drop-down menu will appear. Move your cursor and select “New,” then, on the next tab, select “Shortcut.”
On the appeared window, select “browse” and navigate to the file, program, or document whose shortcut you wish to create, then click “Ok.”
In the “Create Shortcut” window, select “Next” and “Finish” to successfully create a desktop icon.

Give your shortcut a name, and then click “Finish.”

From the options of Name, Size, Item type, or Date modified available, choose the choice on how you wish to organize your desktop icons.
How to Remove a Desktop Icon
If you wish to remove an icon from your desktop, single-click using the mouse’s left button and press “delete” on the tab.
How to Change Icon Pictures
Only a few icons on the desktop have the option to change the icon picture. For instance, you can change the icon of Microsoft word to word pad.
To change the icon image, right-click the icon and select properties.
Thumb the “Shortcut tab” and click “Change Icon.” Note that the tab will only be present if you can change the icon picture.
Select the display picture you wish to use, click “Ok” and on the next screen again press” Ok.”
