Asus Rog Phone 5 – Review
Asus has finally launched its latest flagship, ROG Phone 5. The device features a super responsive display, brilliant speakers, an impressive primary camera, Quad DAC, and a customizable software experience. But it’s quite big and heavy; besides that, it doesn’t support wireless charging and has no IP rating. However, the smartphone is great for gaming. There are plenty of things to know about this smartphone, so let’s take a detailed overview of the device without wasting much more time. Here we go now!
Design
Asus ROG 5 Phone 5 features a large 6.78-inch display with top and bottom bezels and front-firing stereo speakers. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner, a SIM card tray, a standard USB-C port at the bottom, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a notification LED, and a selfie camera in the top bezel. Additionally, it boasts a triple camera setup at the back and an RGB LED matrix in ROG logo shape that can be turned off. The device is quite heavy and thick, so it might not fit in small or medium-sized hands. Besides that, it boasts volume and power buttons ...
... near the middle that’s the device’s plus point. Overall, it has a nice design.
Display
The phone has a large 6.78-inch OLED display with a 2448 × 1080 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a taller 20.4:9 aspect ratio. However, the display panel is very responsive; it has a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The performance of the display is remarkable, and you won’t have any complaints with it.
Performance
The phone offers you outstanding specs. It boasts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor, 8/12/16/18GB of RAM, and 128/256/512GB UFS 3.1 of storage. The specifications of the device are enough to tell its performance. It works flawlessly.
Battery
The device comes with a huge 6,000mAh battery along with 65W HyperCharge support. It can easily last more than a day on a single charge if you heavily play games on it. Otherwise, it can last more than two days. Additionally, the charger of the phone can charge the device from 0% to 100% in 55 minutes.
Camera
It boasts a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. Additionally, it features a 24MP selfie camera. The camera of the device is capable enough to record 8K videos at 30fps, 4K videos at 120fps, and 1080p videos at 240fps. Besides that, it captures great photos even in low-light conditions. So in terms of camera performance, you won’t have to compromise with Asus ROG Phone 5.
Conclusion
The device runs over Android 11 and has ROG UI. The device’s overall performance is outstanding; the only thing I didn’t like about it is its weight. The device is a bit heavy; otherwise, it’s a fantastic smartphone, and you should consider buying it. Thank you!
