India Planning To Trade $50 Billion Bilateral Trade With Indonesia By 2025

Indonesia is looking forward at increasing the spices trade from India that included cloves, nutmeg, pepper, vanilla etc. Indonesia always sees India as a good investment destination and looking at a comprehensive economic partnership for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

Kerala state of India also offers good opportunities to build trade ties with Indonesia especially in the sectors of tourism promotion, spices production, furniture exports which is having a huge growth potential.

According to Indonesia Trade Data, Indonesian exports to India consists of textiles, electronic goods, footwear, and sawn timber, while chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and motor vehicles, automotive are the major imports from India to Indonesia. Besides, in 20–21 Indonesian companies have significantly invested in the food processing sector in India.

According to Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (ICSA), trade between the Indonesia and India in 2017 was USD 12.9 billion. It rose 29.7 per cent to USD 18.13 billion in 2018 with Indonesia’s exports data to India reaching USD 14.08 billion and its imports from India standing ...

In a joint statement issued by both leaders, the two countries said they have agreed to work intensively for the early conclusion of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and reiterated that it needs to be comprehensive, fair and balanced with benefit to all member states.

The two leaders of both nations also instructed officials to optimize the cooperation between ASEAN and India for establishing a sustainable and mutually beneficial trade relations between both countries.

They underscored the important role palm oil plays in Indonesia’s export to India and in India’s consumer preference and growing consumption. Both leaders agreed to address all issues related to obstacles to trade and investment in palm oil products and industries, the joint statement said.

India and China Trade Data
The rapid expansion of India-China bilateral trade since the beginning of this century propelled China to emerge as our largest goods trading partner by 2008, a position which China Customs Data continues to hold today. India’s exports to Argentina were $708.7 million in 2017–18, consisting mainly of organic chemicals, vehicles and auto parts, lubricants, machinery, sound and image devices and garments. Imports from Argentina were $2.2 billion, mainly soybean oil, petroleum, copper, sunflower oil, leather, wool and ferroalloys.

India Export data wants to triple exports to Argentina, eyeing an additional $1.5 billion worth of shipments, and is seeking market access for apparel, textiles, folding bicycles and home furnishing products in the South American country.

India And Chile Import Data
Negotiations for further expansion of a preferential trade agreement (PTA) between India and Chile are in the final stages and both the countries would include about 400 more products under the pact with an aim to boost economic ties, an official said. The two countries had signed a preferential trade agreement on March 8, 2006, and it came into force from August 2007. In 2016, they expanded the scope of the agreement by including more products. Currently about 2,000 goods are covered under the pact.

India’s exports to Chile Import Data include transport equipment, pharmaceuticals, yarn of polyester fibers, tyres and tubes, manufacture of metals, articles of apparel, organic/inorganic and agro chemicals, textiles, readymade garments, plastic goods, leather products, engineering goods, imitation jewellery, sports goods and handicraft.
