Cause for hyperpigmentation
Melanin is a natural skin pigment responsible for giving colour to our hair, eye, and skin. Hyperpigmentation is caused when there is an excess production of melanin, which can be triggered due to various factors. One of the well-known examples would be sunlight; due to the prolonged exposure, the UV rays penetrate through our skin layers which trigger melanocytes, the skin cell to produce more melanin than the amount required, resulting in hyperpigmentation. Apart from this, certain medications or melasma can cause this skin condition.

Many use topical medication to address hyperpigmentation; those medications also include substances that could lighten your skin, such as Vitamin C, kojic acid, etc.
The cosmetic procedure could include laser therapy, chemical peels, etc.
Many homemade remedies could be used to reduce hyperpigmentation. Aloe vera contains a compound called aloesin, which inhibits the production of melanin, which may lighten hyperpigmentation when applied to the skin. Another best example would be using green tea; it is an excellent antioxidant source, which is found in catechins. It removes the free radicals that cause damage to the skin cells. Apart from this, it improves blood circulation in the facial skin. All you have to do is to soak the green tea in cold water and then apply it to your face.
Even after starting your curing procedure for this, be patient because it generally takes a lot of time to get the result.
