Fixing Outlook Error- “unable To Send This Itemâ€
Number of MS Outlook issues comes forth when a user tries to send or receive some email messages. All these issues are some where related to either the Outlook profile, email configuration, a third party application, Outlook repository file i.e. PST file and various other factors. When compared amongst each other (the above mentioned factors), damage caused to PST file can bring severe consequences as this is the only file that consists of all your emails, contacts, calendars, journal entries as well as other information of MS Outlook.
MS Outlook comes with an in-built tool called Inbox Repair Tool called Scanpst.exe) file which can be used to resolve almost all kinds of PST corruption problems; but it is always suggested that the user creates a backup copy of the PST before running this tool. At times, when scapst.exe fails to repair your damaged PST file, you must switch to a commercial PST Recovery utility can be used.
In order to understand this situation more clearly, consider a situation when a user of Outlook 2003 receives all emails with no issues, but every time he/she sends an email message, ...
... the operation fails and an error message like given below, appears on-screen:
Unable to send this item
When the message is accessed in any Outlook folder, it has no corresponding item, but Sent Item has, even when the message was not been sent. The reason behind the occurrence of this error message can be many, some of which are mentioned below:
1.There is some error occurred in your email account configuration.
2.Some connection error has occurred with ISP (Internet Service Provider.
3.The PST file is damaged or corrupt.
In order to resolve these issues, follow the solutions given below:
1.Create a new Outlook profile comprising of all those services that are giving problem and attach the old *.pst file. If this doesn't resolve this problem, then.
2.Check if your Internet Connection is safe and secure.
3.Make sure that the TCP/IP is your default protocol.
4.If in case the problem is due to PST corruption, repair the PST file with the help of Inbox Repair Tool of MS Outlook. For this, locate the program file- ‘scanpst.exe,' double click the file and continue the process as directed.
But do not consider using Inbox Repair Tool every time your PST corrupts or gets damaged, because it is not the perfect PST Repair tool. Therefore, to repair the PST file which cannot be repaired using the Inbox Repair Tool or scanpst.exe executable file, you need to utilize a third party PST file recovery or PST Viewer tool. These PST Viewer software run very effectively with their powerful scanning algorithms to repair corrupt or damaged PST files.
