Is The Ambulance Really Safer Than Your Vehicle?

Stroke, injury, and heart attack can happen at any time to anyone and most of these happen when blood flow to the brain is blocked causing the brain cells to die. Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death and the main cause of long-term disability. When you are injured your best chance for surviving and having a full recovery is getting to a hospital fast – but did you know 1 in 3 people don’t call an emergency ambulance service, In fact, they attempt to drive the patient or their loved ones to the hospital or even wait to see if the symptoms go away. All these things actually increase a person’s chance of death or disability, and it's very important to call if you think someone is having a stroke.
An emergency ambulance can get you to the hospital faster and can start your treatment or give you the required medical aid you need on board right away. They are fully equipped with trained and skilled individuals and your loved one will have a better chance of surviving with them. Also, with a special light, sounds, and signals, traffic ...
... will move out of the way when an ambulance is in a rush but won’t do the same for your car. You are also most likely to be treated quicker at the hospital when you arrive in an ambulance as they have a special exit point that is used for emergencies.
Inside the ambulance, the medical staff will screen you for symptoms, monitor your heart and blood pressure, call ahead to the hospital to let them know the patient is arriving so they can get medical equipment and medicines prepped and tell them any other important information a medical team needs to know. Ambulance services also have special medication and drugs on board to treat certain injuries and strokes and if not done immediately the patient can lose nearly 2 million brain cells. EMS professionals respond to the call immediately and will give the medical team information about medication, symptoms, and more which you won’t be able to do when you get to the hospital.
EMS can also pick which hospital to take you to, depending on the patient’s condition and injury as some hospitals are better equipped to treat stroke or heart patients as compared to others. They will also have more staff, medicine, equipment, and more to treat the patient immediately something which you may not be aware of. If you take the patient in the car to the wrong hospital which isn’t medically equipped for that injury then transfer the person again to another hospital will be riskier and reduce their chances of survival, treatment, and recovery.
Injuries can happen at any time and you as an individual need to keep an ambulance number on your phone and call them if anything happens. The response is quick and they will be able to gauge what happened and provide the patient with the necessary treatment before it's too late.
