Reading Pane In Outlook 2007 Causing Pst Crash

Reading Pane of MS Outlook can cause troubles sometimes. Basically, a Reading Pane in MS Outlook or any other email client is an exciting feature and quite useful too. Well, reading pane feature enables you to view the email messages without opening them. This feature turns out to be useful especially when there are lots of emails and you need to browse through them quickly.
Despite its advantages, the use of Reading Pane can create problems; causing PST crash. This specifically happens when the PST file of current Outlook profile is corrupted or damaged. A PST file can get corrupt due to numerous reasons mainly virus infections, human errors, abrupt or improper shutdown of Outlook or Windows system, software malfunction, etc. As a result, reading pane starts showing errors. But not to worry, you can use inbuilt Outlook repair utility known as Inbox Repair tool to repair the PST file. Inbox Repair tool usually fails to resolve the corruption in PST file. In that case, you can use PST Recovery software to recover the PST file.
Consider a practical scenario where you are using MS Outlook 2007 as your email application ...
... in a Windows Vista system. Now whenever you select a particular email, Outlook 2007 exits abruptly. As you are not able to open the reading pane and access the email, you are also not able to even delete the email as it involves selecting the email in the first place.
Reasons behind this issue
The sole reason for this issue is that Outlook is unable to show the reading pane for the message. This problem occurs when such message is on the top of the selected folder. You are not able to delete the email as Outlook crashes even before you can attempt to delete it.
Resolution
In order to resolve this issue, firstly you need to delete the email. For this, you should access Outlook in Safe Mode and disable the Reading Pane option. To do this,
Open Outlook in safe mode by clicking the ‘Start' button and typing outlook.exe/safe.
Now, when Outlook is opened in the Safe Mode, turn off the Reading Pane option.
Now, exit Outlook from Safe Mode and open Outlook normally.
If problem is not resolved, try repairing your corrupt PST files using Inbox Repair tool i.e. Scanpst.exe. This should resolve the problem.
However, if the Inbox Repair tool is unable to resolve the issue then you should use third-party PST recovery software to retrieve corrupt PST file in an accurate and efficient manner. PST recovery effectively repairs the damaged, broken and corrupt PST files and successfully recovers data from it. It recovers deleted email attachments, zipped attachments, images, files, emails, folders, calendars, contacts, tasks, and notes.
