Dubai is an ultimate family destination and today it is home to a fascinating assortment of attractions specially designed for families and kids. However, a little bit of credit goes to the Wild Wadi Water Park - The first-ever water park that created a stir in the tourism influx of Dubai. It is perhaps the first water theme park that experimented with various rides and water thrill adventures in Dubai and invited visitors to have a great time splashing in the water in a desert region while enjoying an impressive view of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and its surroundings. Let’s get an insight into this fabulous water park in Dubai. Read on to know more.
Wild Wadi Water Park – A brief introduction
Wild Wadi Water Park is a water adventure attraction conceived and operated by Jumeirah International – one of the renowned hotel chains in UAE. It welcomed guests in 1998 and has been alluring guests to a relaxing and adventurous time with ...
... aquatic experiences since then. Located opposite to the iconic Burj Al Arab at Jumeirah Street - Umm Suqeim, the unique inspiring point of this water park is its sweeping panoramic views of this iconic luxury landmark of Dubai and Jumeirah Beach from its rides and slide. It was created to offer a stand-alone water adventure experience as well as to promote the growth of Jumeirah hotels in Dubai during the 90s. In fact, if you plan to stay at Burj al Arab Jumeirah or selected Jumeirah hotels such as Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Madinat Jumeirah, you get complimentary access to Wild Wadi Water Park.
What to expect at this Dubai water park?
Wild Wadi Water Park is a themed water adventure zone based on the Arabian folklore character Juha. This fascinating water park has around 17 water slides and rides, a 360-metre long lazy river, surfing wave pools and heated pools. Some of the highlights of Wild Wadi Water Park are:
Breaker’s Bay – Soak, swim or simply dip and relax as waves gently gush over you at the largest wave pool in the Middle East. A fun splashy place for toddlers and kids to have their share of fun with the family.
Wipeout and Riptide Flowrider – Surfs up! Grab a surf board and try your skills in conquering the waves. Wipeout and Riptide are two wave simulating pools that create the perfect waves for kneeboarding and surfing. Learn to surf or polish your skills , this is a great spot for adventure lovers to spend time catching up with waves.
Jumeirah Sceirah – The fastest and tallest water ride outside Americas. Feel your heart thumping wildly as you slide down at nearly 80km/h through a vertical water tunnel. Don’t forget to soak in the view of Dubai’s iconic skyline and Burj Al Arab from the top before you swoosh down screaming in exhilaration.
Burj Surj - An exciting thriller where you grab on to your tube boats and await the surge and finally plunge down, spin through loops and drop with a splash in a shallow pool. A great ride to enjoy with the family together.

Tantrum Alley – Enjoy tornado rides and downhill water slides along with family and friends. This is a ride where you can share the excitement together with your loved ones as it can accommodate four people one time.
Juha’s Dhow and Lagoon – This one is for the little visitors who can enjoy delightful giggles and shrieks of joy as they splash around in kid-friendly pools and low-intensity water slides. Grown-ups can join in the excitement and have an amazing time playing with water guns, getting drenched by dumping buckets and competing on racing water slides.

Wild Wadi Water Park also has Sindbad’s Cabanas to relax and take a break from all the excitement. A cabana can seat up to 8 people and comes with luxury comforts of sun loungers and exclusive services. Souk Al Wadi and Shahbandar’s Souk are perfect to shop for some memorable collectables. In case you feel famished from all the water adventure, a variety of cafes and diners such as Riptide Pizza, Juha’s Family Kitchen and Shahbandar’s Café are available to grab a quick bite.
Timings and Ticket Cost
Wild Wadi Water park stays open from Tuesdays to Sundays -10 am till 5 pm. The water park is closed on Mondays. The water park rides and experiences have height restrictions and a majority of them need guests to be above 1.1 metres and above in height. Hence the ticket costs are also based on this height requirement. A single day entry ticket costs around AED 209 per person (1.1 metre and above.) Those below the height of 1.1 metres have to pay AED 159 per person. If you book your tickets online, then the rates are cheaper than those you purchase at the main gate. Children below the age of two can enter free of cost.
Why you should visit Wild Wadi Water Park
Wild Wadi Water Park may feel like it has become bleaker compared to waterparks that was launched after it in Dubai, but you can only judge that after you have spent time at Wild Wadi Water Park. One of the main reasons to visit Wild Wadi Water Park is that it is cheaper than other water parks without compromising the quality of thrill and excitement. Being located at the renowned Jumeirah Beach, the water park is also easily accessible from any part of Dubai. Unlike other grand water parks, Wild Wadi Water Park is teeming with rides yet feels compact. The water park’s exciting rides and recreational activities can be easily covered within a day.
Conclusion
A soaking day spent in laughter and fun – that is exactly how memorable holidays should feel. Wild Wadi Water Park delivers the same excitement and enjoyment to every guest. With time, newer and more adventurous waterparks have popped up in Dubai. Each has its own vantage point and has projected as bigger and better than the previous water parks. However, the charms of Wild Wadi Water Park is unique and offer a fun and adventure time all can enjoy equally. It remains as one of the best water parks in Dubai to visit to beat the heat and have some splashy fun with near and dear ones.
