How To Build A Resume
The resume, curriculum vitae or resume, is a document created expressly to relate your experience, knowledge, and skills to potential employers. As such, every Resume's basic idea is that it helps you highlight the most important things in your professional career. Resume Review Online
A resume should ideally meet the following objectives:
• To the future employer, make known the basic data of the person who sends it in a professional field.
• Pre-selection of candidates for professional tests and/or interviews.
• Serve as support in the selection interviews.
Step 1. Choose your type of resume
The first step should be to define the type and format of your resume. This largely depends on whether you are applying for a particular position or looking for a job and will send it to many companies. Likewise, you must consider if the industry in which you want to work is a traditionalist or innovative.
Step 2. Select the information
Most likely, even if you are a recent graduate or ...
... have spent a sabbatical year studying your inner self with Tibetan monks, your experience and skills put together will span more than two pages. Please choose what you want them to know about you: your skills, your career, your work, and your academic achievements. At this stage, you can include all the information you want for later debugging.
Step 3. Write your goal
Having a defined objective for you from a professional perspective will help the recruiter get to know you better and know if your profile and aspirations are suitable for the company and/or the position you are looking to fill. If you are targeting your resume specifically for a particular position, it is a good idea to review the company's objectives in question so that you take them into account when creating or rewriting your own objective.
Step 4. Write your work experience and academic preparation
If your resume is of the chronological type or some other type that includes the use of dates, you must choose whether it will be in reverse or direct order and start writing about your jobs in the order you have chosen. Include dates for each job and your accomplishments at each.
In the same way, add your academic preparation. You don't have to add absolutely everything. Depending on how far ahead in your work life, you may only need to add the latest education level. For example, if you are a Bachelor or Engineer, you don't have to add high school data. Here you can also add your achievements during that stage if you think they are relevant. If you are a recent graduate, these achievements can be significant to demonstrate your attitude and interest in achieving your goals.
Finally, if you are going to use a competency-type resume, your work experience can be summarized in a bulleted list, without adding the dates, but being clear about each position and the company in which you held that position.
Step 5. Empty the information into an attractive design
Even if your career has been brilliant and you have thousands of achievements, these may not be considered if the presentation of your resume is not adequate.
