Your Medical Health

Many people will be asked a number of medical questions when they first apply for a life insurance policy. Your current age and health are very important factors in deciding how much your insurance policy premiums will be. The insurer wants to know how much of a risk you may be to die during the term of the policy: the more of a risk you are, the higher your policy will be.
An issue that many people have with these policies is that you may often be asked about your medical history every time you apply for a policy. Even if you’ve applied recently you will be asked the questions again. When you are being asked these questions you must answer with as an honest answer otherwise you will be at risk of having your policy voided if are to die during your term. It is very foolish to lie because the likelihood of the insurance policy to find out is very high. The reason that they ask these medical questions time and time again is because your medical circumstances may have changed in that time too.
It is the responsibility of the life insurance company to ask the right questions and for you to answer ...
... those questions truthfully. Your policy application will not pass until you have answered these questions properly.
With most insurers, the largest part of the application process is the medical questions and this part will take the longest to fill out. Depending on what insurer you are working with there will be a great variation in the different questions and how they are worded. They will also ask specific information about the medical history of your family and if any of those conditions have affected you in any way.
In the application you will be asked to write down an disorders or conditions that you may have suffered from in the past. You will also need write down how long you suffered from these disorders. They’re going to want to know as much as they can about your health so that they can determine an appropriate risk assessment for you.
If your answers aren’t provided in a proper way then you may be asked by the underwriters to provide more information and even a more specific questionnaire. They may also just ask you in person to elaborate further on this matter.
It may be annoying for the person looking to be insured to have to send this paperwork back and forth with the insurance company, as they may want coverage as quickly as possible. However the insurance companies administration department may need this information to process your policy as quickly as possible.
The part that has sped up the process significantly is that a lot of insurers have chosen to put this information online to make people’s life easier. The company may reconfirm the questions on the phone that you have answered online. Again, make sure that you’ve given truthful answers otherwise your policy may be in jeopardy and your family will not be covered in the event something is to happen to you.
