Ultrasound technology uses ultrasound to take a picture of what is happening in the body. A very common use for ultrasound technology is to check pregnant moms' fetuses to make sure that they are doing well. Also, heart sonograms are studied to view the state of the cardiovascular system around it. Movement can also be evaluated to figure out how effectively the heart is doing. Even though cardiology is a important use of ultrasound technology, Julie works by doing ultrasounds for the maternity ward, not cardiology patients. Let us see at how ultrasound technology is performed for pregnant women.
For pregnant women, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer rubs a slick gel on the expectant mother's stomach region. Then, the Sonographer moves the sonography ”wand” on her stomach carefully to confirm that the baby is healthy.

Julie contributes to their instant of great joy as the mother sees the first photo of their baby. This is what makes Julie satisfied and gets her excited about work on cold winter days. She did want to be a dentist, but becoming an Ultrasound Technician was a much more reasonable time commitment, so that she was able to start a family of her own. And then Julie did have a pretty good idea what was going on when she had her own ultrasound.
