Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is the highest standard of competence in the field of Accountancy all across the globe. The exam is administered by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), which is the world’s largest accounting body.

This credential is given to individuals who clear the Uniform CPA examination and also meet the required education and experience particulars. It is a highly prestigious qualification and is something that anyone can have once decided.

Why are CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) required in India?

CPAs are accountants who are extremely trusted financial advisors for individuals and businesses since they are the ones who help them plan and achieve their respective goals. CPA Exam in India:

Testing for CPA Exam candidates at test centers in India will begin January 1, 2021. Also, the candidates may begin to use the scheduler on November 2, 2020.

The CPA aspirants can take the exam sections without restrictions, other than waiting to receive scores from prior attempts of the same section or when there is a major change to the exam. Continuous Testing will replace the existing limited CPA Exam Testing Window model, which only permits candidates to test in India during designated time frames.

The agenda behind conducting the US CPA Exam In India is to avoid international travel for the Indian CPA aspirants in this uncertain time. The decision helps the Indian students to ease the burden of travelling to countries like Dubai, United States, for writing the CPA exam.

CPA Cost in India:

There are basically three main things for the CPA course which are evaluation fees, exam fees and travelling fees. Well, now since it has been decided that the CPA exam will be held in India itself students can save their travelling cost which is a lot.

CPA exam fee is $1000 and International testing fee is $1500. Additionally, $225 for evaluation making the overall CPA exam cost INR 2, 00,000 without training fee.

The training fees of Becker is usually INR 1.2L to INR 1.47L depending on the product and offers.

Scope of CPA in India:

US CPA course gives you in-depth knowledge of areas related to US GAAP, US Tax, and US Audit. As we know, for a fact that there are many Multinational companies in India who are desperate for CPAs and are ever ready to hire them. Basically, after looking at all this we can say that this is an opportunity for all Indian accounting graduates to get the certification so they can earn a lot of money with international recognition and of course immense respect.

Indian CAs also have an advantage when it comes to pursuing CPA because they already have the knowledge and skills to become a CPA all they have to do is give the Uniform CPA examination and get the license.

CPAs would have immense job opportunities and as their experience level increases, so does their salary potential. Thus, there would be continuous professional career growth for a CPA. Financial advisors are required by almost all businesses and organizations to keep them in check and help them gain more profit. CPAs are hired by:

Subsidiaries of US-based MNCs in India
Few Indian MNCs who have raised money from US capital markets
Auditors of these MNCs
F&A companies
So, there’s an abundance of jobs in India in various Auditing, Taxation, Financial Planning & Analysis and other profiles.
