If you are planning to throw an outdoor party, why not add something simple to your menu? How about kebabs? When you want to entertain outdoors but don’t feel standing over a hot grill, a kebab party is a way to go.

For a fun twist on barbecued chicken and usual burgers, set up your backyard grill for a DIY kebab party. Isn’t it a great idea? Indeed, with skewered mains, sides, and desserts, there’s a lot for your guests to great creative when customising their kebabs. In fact, it is easy to get most of your food prepared beforehand. Here are a few tips for organising your kebab party:-

- Set up a kebab-building assembly line near the grill. Have a lot of cocktail napkins on hand as things might get messy near the grill.

- Order meat and poultry from kebab shop in bulk a couple of days before the party to avoid last-minute chaos.

- Soak the skewers in water for 2 hours or overnight if you are using bamboo. For small, non-grilled skewers, toothpicks work wonders.

- Marinate the meat, fish, chicken, and vegetables in advance and store them in the fridge until everyone’s ready to start assembling the skewers.

- Have the dipping bowls ready and fill it with dipping sauces for the skewers and store the sauce in the fridge until party time.

- You can have skewered grilled fruit with some honey sauce using plums, peaches, and pineapple for dessert.

There you are, ready to throw a killer kebab party. Set out chunks of meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables, and let your friends grill and make their own kebabs. Have fun!
