Are you living with white boring walls, but also hate the thought of painting? For homeowners, painting is a dreadful task. Although, painting your home is one of the most inexpensive ways to improve your homes overall look without extra efforts.

Colours can dramatically change the mood and even the interior of your home. It can also make a statement with a splash of bold colours or create a soft backdrop. Whatever your choice may be, painting is the easiest and least expensive tools in the interior design world.

However, there are many things that you should know before you paint your home.

Check the paint colour

When you buy paint from the store, it is difficult to say how it will look on your wall. If you have already decided on a colour, it is best to buy a sample first. Apply that sample to your wall, allow it to dry and then observe it under the light during daytime and night.

On the other hand, if you are unsure about the colours, buy a few samples and try them. You will be surprised to see how these colours actually look. Only buy colours after you love the look and feel of it.

Prepare ...
... your home

Painting is much easier when nothing comes in between. This means to empty the room before painting. If you are painting your living room then move large furniture to the centre of the room and cover them up with old sheets.

Before starting to paint, it may sound useless to wipe the walls down but it is a very important step. Whether you see it or not there are tiny particles of dirt, dust, and oils buildup on the wall. Thus, removing this debris will allow the paint to stick properly on the walls.

Don’t forget to fill up the cracks and holes on the walls and tape off the window trims and cover the switches and power outlets. You can use newspaper or paper or old clothes to cover the floor.

However, if you don’t want to do all of these then you can call experts from Konstruct. They have a team of experienced painters in Melbourne, that will do all of your hard work. Moreover, if you have big holes in the walls then they have a team of skilled plasterers in Melbourne, who will do the job for you!
