Description - Diabetes is when the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood. This definition may seem a bit confusing but those with Diabetes can feel each and every word of it. There are 3 types of Diabetes. One needs to know which kind of diabetes they suffer from. ...
... If you don't know what you deal with, you cannot beat it.
• Type A: when the body does not produce insulin at all. One needs insulin shots every day.
• Type B: when the body does not produce or absorb insulin fully. One needs insulin shots often.
• Gestational diabetes: when, during pregnancy, the mother shows signs of diabetes.
Daily Tasks
In order to feel alive, these are some daily tasks that you can take:
• Keep taking your medicines on time
• Keep a check on your Blood Pressure (BP) and keep it in control.
• Prevent injuries, cuts, and bleeds on a regular basis.
• Look out for early signs of strokes and heart attacks.
• Keep a close eye on your sugar intake and blood sugar.
• Keep your teeth and gums healthy by brushing and flossing daily.
• Certain adjustments
The following adjustments should be made in your daily routine:
1. Don't stress as much. Stressing will not only worsen your condition but will also invite many other health problems to it. Stress has been linked with a worsening effect on every health condition. Destress yourself as much as possible.
2. Have an active lifestyle. Having a mundane and boring lifestyle will make you feel low and out of life. That makes you even sicker than you should be. Have an active lifestyle inclusive of a variety of exercises and hobbies.
3. Socialize more. It is said that joining a program for the diabetic, entering a new friend circle or just generally socializing more can have great effects on your health in general. This will help you cope with your diabetes better.
Diet
Having a healthy diet is a great thing but you need to focus more on those foods that are not tough for your body to produce as well. Your diet should be healthy and balanced but also include a lot of fiber like bread, pasta, rice, grain cereal, etc. You should also try and avoid foods with high-calorie content, trans fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt. Along with high water content, put more thrust on fruits and veggies and you will be good to go.
No Smoking
Smoking remains critical for diabetics. It contains narcotine which hampers blood flow by hardening the blood vessels. Diabetic patients have a high risk of heart disease already which gets amplified due to smoking. Hence, smoking is deadly for diabetes.
