Signs Of A Weakened Immune System
Here are a few signs that indicate us to a weakened immune system.
1. Constant fatigue
A proper sleep schedule and a balanced diet are known to be natural immunity booster for the body. But even after getting a full night’s sleep and your daily dose of nutrition, if your body still feels tired then this can be due to a weak immunity. Constant fatigue is not normal and you should consult your doctor if your body is always low on energy levels. This symptom can make everyday activities feel too much to bear, thus majorly affecting your lifestyle.
2. Slower healing
Small injuries like cuts, burns and bruises are a part of everyday life and something that aren’t cause for worry. A wound on a healthy body is easier to manage because a healthy immune system will help heal the wound much faster. But a weakened immune system doesn’t have enough good cells to help heal the wound, thus slowing down the healing process. If you notice your wounds and injuries taking much longer to heal than they’re supposed to, you should get your doctor to check your immunity levels.
3. Digestive issues
A ...
... healthy gut is a sign of a well-functioning body and it’s been known that weak digestion is the cause of many diseases. The good organisms of the body that fight off diseases, germs and bacteria are known to live in and around our gut. Which is why a weakened gut usually means the lack or shortage of these disease-fighting organisms, which in turn means a weakened immune system. If you suffer from frequent bouts of diarrhea, constipation or gas, then these symptoms usually point to a weak immunity. There are many medicines and immunity booster in the market, including Ayurvedic medicines that are known to tackle digestive problems and
4. Recurring infections and cold
It is said that for an adult, it’s normal to contract a cold around 2 to 3 times in a year, with each episode taking up to two weeks to recover from. But if you find yourself dealing with recurring episodes of cold, flu and infections, then these signs can point towards a weak immune system as well. Another sign of a weak immunity is a longer recovery period from said colds. While the frequency of cold in children is higher, you should still consult a doctor if they get sick more often.
5. Excess stress
When your body is stressed, it leads to a surge in cortisol hormone levels which decrease the white blood cells of your body, which are crucial for a healthy immune system. Which is why, stress is known to compromise our immunity levels which can lead to more diseases, infections and autoimmune disorders.
Every little happening in our body can be clear and evident, if we just learn to listen to the symptoms. The next time your body shows any of these signs, you’ll be much more aware of what it’s trying to show you.
