International Application – Study Abroad Process Overview

1.Research
Importance of University Ranking - This is one of the most crucial factors for an international student. Ranking could be based on the university’s range of academic programs, student-teacher ratio, industrial tie-ups, quality of faculty, acceptance rate, extracurricular activities, financial aid, student outcomes, alumni network, internship placements, and many more.
Admission Requirements and Intakes - Admission requirements vary greatly with universities and programs across the globe. Depending on what your desired program of study is, international students must prepare for study abroad entrance exams. Popular exams include SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, IELTS, and TOEFL. Additionally, applicants must keep a note of the admission intakes and deadlines for each country and university offers.
Fee and Scholarships - What is the cost of higher education abroad? There is no simple answer to this question. Similar to admission requirements, tuition and living expenses also vary between countries and universities. In addition, you must also explore scholarship or financial aid options. Most universities ...
... abroad give financial support to its international students, criteria of which may differ. Education loans to study abroad are also offered by leading financial institutions in India.
Post Study Work Options – Gaining some work experience and that too in a foreign country will undoubtedly increase your employability. Post-study work options after you complete your studies is another major criterion for an international applicant while choosing his/her study abroad destination.
Student Visa - Every country has its own student visa norms. While you can apply for the visa only after you have been formally accepted by the university, applicants must do some groundwork on the visa requirements prior to the application process and make proper arrangements.
Know what to study – be distinct - Identify your interests, aptitude, career aspirations, and choose your desired subject or program accordingly. You need not pursue engineering because your neighbor’s son is doing so. Every individual for that matter has different skills and potential. Find out yours and be unique on your own terms.
2. Speak with one of our counselors
When you’re ready, make an appointment with a career counselor. Bring your wish list and course preferences along with you to your appointment as a starting point. Your counselor will work through all the big and small details to ensure the best possible fit between you, your future university, and your area of study.
3. Make your application
After you’ve chosen your course and university, it’s time to apply. Team 3RDi will support your university and course applications. They will personally contact your chosen university or school to smoothen out the process and help improve your chances of acceptance.
4. Offer acceptance
Once your application is received, the university or school will assess it thoroughly and notify you of the verdict. It can take up to a few weeks (or longer for postgraduate levels) for your application to be processed. If your application is successfully selected, you’ll receive a letter of offer and an acceptance form. Before you accept the offer, go through it carefully with your counselor to check for any conditions that may apply. If you are accepted for more than one course or school, your counselor will help you decide on the best option for you.
5. Student visa
After accepting the letter of offer, the most important task is to apply for your student visa. Since each country has its own set of formalities to fulfill, your IDP counselor will guide you through the visa application process and help prepare the documents needed for your submission.
6.Accomodation
Unless you have been offered on-campus accommodation, you’ll have to figure out where to live when studying abroad. You can look for rooms on rent, homestay, or find localhost. We help you research and find your home at 3RDiConsulting.
7.Book your flights in time
Make sure you book your flights well in advance. Try and look at the options with a good amount of time in hand so you can monitor the price change and book at the lowest fares. Do check for the entry requirements in your host country and for baggage allowance fees.
8. Ready, set, go
Congratulations – you’re off to a huge adventure. There will be many minutes, yet important to-do things you need to consider before flying overseas for which your 3RDi counselor will guide your way. This will include matters such as exchanging money, insurance, accommodation, SIM cards, opening a bank account, country rules, and adapting to a new culture. We also host regular pre-departure sessions throughout the year to help prepare you for student life in your new country.
