Winter is here and you must be worried about the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. Winter is really a challenging time for most vehicles and you tend to burn out fuel faster than the other season. If it is snowing or chilly winds are blowing, you car is going to get cold. The moment you sit inside the car you will feel the chill. This means you will put the heater in full blast to warm up the car and yourself. This puts undue pressure on the car’s engine and consumes too much fuel as well. Is there any way by which you can reduce the impact on fuel so that it lasts longer?

Try and avoid short trips because during winters it takes more time to warm up the car. As a result more fuel is consumed in warming up the car than the actual distance travelled. Unless, it is absolutely necessary, avoid taking out your car for a short trip; rather rely on the local transport for this.
Make sure to check the tire pressure before you step out. When the tire pressure is accurate the traction on the road is proper, otherwise it will exert more pressure and consume more fuel. So the next time you fill up the fuel ...
... tank, get the tire pressure checked and follow the required pressure level.
Don’t spend too much time idling the car. Driving the car warms it up faster than spending too much time idling the car during winters. Most car manufacturers recommend that you should not spend more than 30 seconds on idling the car.

Other effective tips include parking your car in warm places, wearing warm clothes than relying on seat warmers and defrosters. In fact, you should use the recommended fuel type during winters. Avoid cruise control and rely on manual driving so that you don’t skid on the snow and end up saving more fuel. Try out these tips this season and see the difference for yourself. You will be amazed at the amount of fuel that you save at the end of the week. These tips are simple and easy to follow and hardly require much effort. Why don’t you try them out? If there are any more tips that you would like to add to the list, feel free to share them. Mention them in the comments section for everyone else to see. And in case if you face any issue with your car take it to the nearest authorized Skoda service Perth center.
