The stock market refers to the set of markets and exchanges in which the acquisition, sale and issue of shares of publicly traded companies takes place on a daily basis. Such financial activities shall be carried out through institutionalized formal exchanges or over-the-counter (OTC) markets operating under a specified set of regulations.
