The number of these schools: There are only 5 Rashtriya Military Schools(RMS) in India. Their locations are RMS Chail in Himachal Pradesh, RMS Bangalore in Karnataka, RMS Belgaum in Karnataka, RMS Ajmer in Rajasthan, and RMS Dholpur in Rajasthan. But there are around 30 Sainik schools too. The number of these schools are very less. There is also a Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun, Uttrakhand too.

Entrance exam: To get admission to these schools, you have to clear the entrance exam. Common entrance test(CET) is the exam which you have to clear in order to be in one of those schools.
Admission: There are some conditions to get admission to these schools. The entrance exam is only for 6th and 9th class student. For the 11th class, they access your 10th-grade marks. You can get admission only in the 6th, 9th, and 11th class.
History: The founder of these schools was King George 5th, who established the Military school in Chail just after World War 2nd, in 1922. These schools have a rich history in them, before the Independence and very much discipline.
World's highest cricket ground: RMS Chail has the world's highest cricket ground located 7500 feet above the ocean level. Morning parades, sports meet, and various events are conducted here.
Reservation: There is a special reservation of 70% to the wards of soldiers and military servants. Even if they died serving the nation, their children get a reserved seat for which he/she has to give the test and pass it.
Selection process: The selection is not an easy job here. Even if you have cleared the exam, there is a special interview. If you ace it, then only you will get admission.
Sports: These schools have a very competitive environment, not only in exams or training but also in sports. There are teams divided into groups and compete against each other to win the trophy.
Physical training: These schools not just focused on the academics of a child but also the physique. So, with studies, they train their students physically by various means.
