Make sure to check the weather report for the night and the next day. Knowing what is in store for you helps. Since you are driving down in a bad weather, it is important to be aware of the weather conditions.
You should have at least two emergency numbers saved with you whom you can contact if things out of control. Let these people know that they are your emergency numbers and that they should receive your call. It is better to have two numbers saved then one because in case ...
... one does not respond, you can rely on the other.
Make sure that the headlights and the taillights of the car are in good situation. At night you need to switch them on. With too much snow and fog around, the headlight and taillight will play a significant role.
Before starting the journey get the brake, accelerator, gas in the tire checked. Make sure that the fuel tank is full. Don’t take any chances with it. Keep a spare tire in the car along with the jack and other tools required for emergency repairing of the car.
Your phone should be fully charged and carry your phone charger with you.
Torchlight comes handy as well and a stick. You never know when you might need it.
Follow the traffic signals and check the road signals so that you can take the correct turn to reach your destination and don’t get lost in the process. If you are confused any time, use the Google maps to locate the destination.
Make sure to use the indicators while changing lanes or taking a turn.
