The Rupin pass is located at an altitude of 15,250 ft above sea level. The beautiful Rupin pass trek is a crossover trek commencing from Dhaula, Uttarakhand and ends at Sangla, Himachal Pradesh. One gets to experience the culture and beauty of both the states in one trek. Nestled between the Dhaulandar Ranges the Rupin pass trek is at an elevation of 4650 m.
Rupin Pass is a high altitude trek starting from Dhaula which is at an elevation of 5500 ft and it takes you to an altitude of 15,250 ft in the span of 8 days.
The trek length of Rupin pass trek is 52 kms.

Rupin pass located in the lap of Himalayan ranges this trek is a trekkers paradise with snow bridges, vast green meadows and hundreds of waterfalls to make this trek a treat for your eyes and mind.

The difficulty level or grade of Rupin Pass trek is difficult and one should have prior trekking experience and high level of fitness to scale this high altitude trek.

The difficulty level of Rupin pass trek depends on the high altitude that is 15 250 ft. To trek this altitude one has to have prior knowledge and trek experience. Even for seasoned trekkers Rupin pass trek becomes a challenge thus for amateurs this trek is not recommended. With gain in altitude proper acclimatization is required as a necessary measure to fight Acute Mountain Sickness which can happen to anyone.

The difficulty of Rupin pass trek also depends on the challenges faced during the trek like climbing the snow bridges which can become tricky and risky if you have no prior knowledge. The use of ropes and microspikes becomes essential especially in pre monsoon season or summers when there is residual winter snow and thus snow bridges. Other challenges faced by trekkers enroute are crossing of Rupin River and the famous snow slides that bring the thrill in you and can be scary and risky if not done under supervision and prior knowledge.

Also, the weather at Rupin pass trek also poses a challenge for trekkers to scale this high altitude pass. As the autumn season comes to an end the weather can show abrupt changes and hours of snowfall that can make the trek even more difficult. With gain in altitude the oxygen level depletes and thus Rupin pass trek is not for faint hearted or amateurs. Even in the summer months the weather can change with sudden showers that last for hours and can cause halt for your trek.
