One might get mesmerized with the fonts available on Adobe Photoshop. Since many creators are using Adobe Photoshop, it can seem ordinary and un-striking to the world. Fortunately, you can stand out as a creator by creating and customizing new fonts and use them on your Photoshop designs. The fonts you will create would work similarly to the built-in fonts, so it would be easy for you to access and use them. Both Windows and Mac users can import and use custom fonts in Adobe. If you want to learn to do so, try the steps given in the guide below:

Add Fonts Via Windows PC

Windows has a universal font system that enables its users to install the font once and access it on all the apps they use. This feature enables the users to try the installed fonts without getting into any complicated procedure. Here is how to install a font on your PC, but before that, you must install at least one font on your Windows System. If you have already done that, skip to the next procedure, i.e., use the downloaded font. If you haven’t installed any font, use the following steps:

Download the ZIP file of any font of ...
... your choice and save it on your desktop.
Now, extract the contents of the archive (ZIP file) to a folder.
Give double-click on the extracted font file to preview the downloaded font.
Click on ‘Install’ at the top for installing the font on your PC.
The font will be immediately available for use.
How to Use the Downloaded Font

After installing the font, you can use it on any app of your choice. In the following steps, we will show you how to use the downloaded font on Adobe Photoshop:

Go to Photoshop, and start by creating a new image or opening an existing file.
On your left, click on the T icon to open the text tool. Alternately, click on the Window option, followed by Tools.
From the top of your screen, click on the fonts dropdown menu to check all the installed fonts.
Select the installed font you want to use. It will be available to use in your photo.
Besides your fonts, you will find the dropdown menu. Use it for stylizing your text with effects.
Add Fonts Via Mac

Using the fonts on Adobe Photoshop via Mac is almost as similar to using it on Windows. There are only a few tweaks in the steps involved in the procedure. You can use the installed fonts on Photoshop as well. Use the following steps to install the font on Mac:

Start by downloading any font of your choice.
Now, extract the contents of your font archive in a folder.
Give double-click on your font file to open it in the Font Book.
Check if you have chosen the correct font and then click on ‘Install Font’ to get the font on your Mac.
How to Use the Downloaded Font

Your installed font is now ready to be used in Photoshop, and here’s how you access it:

Open Photoshop and tap on the T (Text tool) icon on the left side of your screen.
From the dropdown menu given on top, select the font you downloaded.
From the menu given next to your font name, choose a variation of the downloaded font.
Start typing to find the new font appearing on your screen.
Set the New Font as Default

You can choose to set the newly added font as the default font, even on the Adobe Photoshop app. Following are the steps you need to use:

Open the Text tool in Photoshop.
Select the latest font, and it will automatically become the default font for the tool.
From now, every time you access the tool, the newly added font will be pre-selected. So, you can start typing without getting into a hassle-filled process.
Conclusion

Using this guide, you can easily find and use any font in your designs. You can use the custom fonts on Microsoft Word as well. Use free font websites to get more font options and create something unique and striking.
