Get 3 Free Quotes On A Skilled Building Expert

Prepare your home for an inspection
Selling your home may mean that you need a building expert (Bygningssagkyndig) to look at your home as part of the sales process, or the buyer may request a home inspection for his or her own fun. Buying a home should be one of the momentous events of your life.
Having a home inspector come around to see your property will help you prepare to move without surprises after that fact. Instead, spend a little extra money to fix something before the seller than if the buyer withdraws from the sale or issue a call to pay for repairs after the sale of the property.
Be prepared to visit the home inspectors for the inspection to go smoothly and with a positive result.
Preparing for a Home Inspection: 10 Tips to Help You Get Ready
Cleaning
Cleaning your home before an inspection is pretty obvious. It's such a simple step, but some people tend to overlook it. Remember that home inspectors are also people with preconceived ideas. If a home is dirty or cluttered, their preconceived ideas ...
... may indicate that the house is not well looked after.
Make sure your home is clean and it will show the inspector that you care about your property and take care of it. First impression should be a good impression.
Be on time
Make sure you are ready for the inspector at least one hour before your appointment. Home inspectors are notorious for being on time or early.
Most inspectors start on the outside of the home, so do not be surprised by the inspector wandering around your backyard before ringing the doorbell.
Turn on the power
It goes without saying that the home inspector should check your housing tool, e.g. Stove, dishwasher, oven and air conditioning. If you have already moved out and turned off the power, be sure to turn it on again so that all appliances are working properly when the inspector arrives.
The inspection cannot be carried out without checking these, and may require another home inspection or even lead to the buyer being able to withdraw their offer. Therefore, be sure to leave the power to the inspector to check grounding and vice versa the polarity of your utilities.
Make room for the inspector to work
Make sure that the access to the stove, water heater or air conditioner is clear for the building expert to inspect these objects. Remove any boxes or other stored items from around these tools to ensure a decent work area for the inspector.
Inspectors will not move anything that blocks their way, which means your items may be damaged, or they will not be able to perform a full inspection and may require another visit - both will cost you money.
Connect your pilot light
Without the pilot light on, the inspector cannot check elements such as water heater, oven or gas stove. In addition, the inspector will not turn on the pilot light himself for safety and responsibility.
If the pilot light is out, they will not check the relevant utilities and delay the sales process until they can inspect them adequately.
Ensure easy access to garage, basement and attic
Make sure to ensure easy access to your attic, basement and garage, as the inspector must also check all of these. As previously mentioned, clean up before inspection.
Dust up any spiders or rodents and make sure there is no water in your basement. If you keep any valuables in the areas, be sure to lock them away as well.
