Bachelor Of Design (b.des) Course Details – Admission Process, Eligibility & Top Colleges

B.Des is a degree course in Fashion designing which is offered by many top design colleges in India. It is a four years program consisting of eight semesters (2 semesters every year) in which the final year is full of practical knowledge i.e. internship in a special area. However, you may find several colleges offering B.Des as a five-year course.

• Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)
• National Institute of Design (NID) Exam
• All India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED)
• National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Exam
• Pearl Academy Entrance Exam
These entrance exams for B.Des are held by individual institutes. Hence, one will have to apply individually for every entrance exam. Once the student passes the entrance exam, he/she is shortlisted according to the marks obtained in the exam. Some colleges conduct group discussions and personal interviews also.
