India's Online education market outlook
It has been six months since things have drastically changed in the education ecosystem in India. Since the country moved into lockdown at the end of March until now, from pre-schools, schools to colleges and universities all of the education have transitioned online. Even the final exams that were held for college students were held online and this article is about taking a look at how the Indian online education market looks at the moment. Students are being taught from the comforts of home, and the attention that teachers might be able to pay to individual students may have been hampered but the teachers have come up with some extraordinary and creative methods to keep students interested and attentive during classes.

Many feared that the discipline one would gain from attending school or college might be absent as education continues to take place online. However, this is something that can be resolved with the right incentive for kids. From assignments that are handed over to students, to the classes that are being held on an everyday basis, the pandemic has shown us ...
... how the education landscape has changed drastically, especially in metro cities, towns, and regions where the public has access to the internet and a good device.

1. Online education ecosystem
What is the Online education ecosystem made up of? There are many factors that comprise the digital age learning ecosystem and the following are the most important ones.

a. Sense of community:
Despite moving education completely online, one must remember that young kids learn a sense of community and equality in schools. In keeping with this, teachers have come up with various ways to instill a sense of community in their students. Teachers know the interests, strengths, and challenges of their respective students and some brilliant teachers are also interested in learning along with their students, which makes learning a process that is transformative. The teachers at this point also become learners and explorers making the community a huge group of individuals in search of learning new things.

b. Developing the ability to question:
Educators have to design classes and assignments throughout the digital age studying ecosystem by posing open-ended questions. This will provoke deeper pondering and encourage students to develop the ability to come up with their own questions based on their understanding of the future which can be explored together or separately.

c. Interesting digital content
To keep students interested, one of the most important tools is to find the right multimedia content, including primary resources and documents. Teachers can come up with additional techniques and strategies to further make the exploration of this digital content interest. It could be by assigning projects, or even by giving students a creative outlet to express themselves. By using a learning object repository, teachers and students can access resources as well as upload and share the content that has been created by them during their learning activities.

d. Assessment methods
As the method of educating minds changes, the method to assess students also changes. The teacher in the new age learning ecosystem uses assessment for learning and this is a practice that employs more risk-free formative assessments where the educator regularly checks for student understanding so that learners are able to freely share their developing ideas and skills. Teachers also use multiple forms of evaluation in the process of learning so that students have more ways to encounter success. These forms might also include participation in analysis, student-produced content, and multimedia exhibitions.

2. Stages of development
The following are the different stages of development when it comes to online education.

a. Access and Motivation
This step focuses mainly on helping students understand how to technically engage with different tools. It is very important to give students who are a part of your class a short online orientation that help students develop basic proficiency with the learning management system that different institutions employ. It could be setting Google Class, Google Meet, or even Zoom. Any new application that is being used by students needs to be introduced to them step by step so that they are able to understand how to plan and use the learning management system.

b: Online Socialization
This step is all about developing a social space for students to interact with their friends and the course teacher. This could happen in the form of an icebreaker session or a side chat app that allows students to comment and discuss. This will also help students maintain the same kind of social life that they would have had were they being educated in a classroom.

c. Information Exchange
This is the stage where we set up access for the students who will part of the ecosystem. The learning management system, the device students would need and the ways the students could gain information should all be planned during this step, and information must be exchanged at this time.

d: Knowledge Construction
If Step 3 is about obtaining information, Step 4 centers on building knowledge through social collaboration. This stage is highly interactive with students sharing their ideas with one another. There are many ways to do this, but one of the ways to explain this step is how we would set up a discussion board on an online platform for users to share information and discuss. Something similar needs to be built for students as well. This is where one would learn from peers and this is also the place where teachers can build friendly and healthy competition between students. By giving students the space for knowledge construction, we also help students build the right attitude when it comes to sharing what they know. It is a great way of introducing all-round development.

3. Online test preparation
One of the most important parts about the online education ecosystem other than imparting education is to test how effecting the impartation has been. Testing is one way to find it and it is important to set up tests that do not pressurize the children extensively but also do the job of helping teachers assess where each of their students stands in different subjects. Preparation of tests is an important part of the online education ecosystem as there are loopholes that might lead students astray. One of the best ways to conduct online tests is to use the right system and if the tests are part of an academic curriculum, open-book tests would also be a great way of reiterating the lessons that students have learned over the year or semester.

4. Online reskilling and certification
Online education is not only about the education landscape changing this year due to an unexpected pandemic, but online education has been a way for individuals to learn skills that they hadn't had a chance to learn before. Or a skill that individuals had always been interested in but somehow were unable to find the time required to spend on building upon that skill. All the online open course universities that also offer certification help individuals decide on how they want to pursue their future education and shape their careers as well. From different kinds of specializations available under different streams to extra skills that one can pick up, there is a huge variety of options available and all one needs is the determination to be able to finish what they started.
