Does a new and very cute puppy arrive in your home? And when you first saw her, the thought of training her already came into your mind. Of course, your puppy has to feel that she's very much welcome in her new sanctuary. One way to do that is to treat her as part of your family and not merely a toy or a usual house pet. Don't be surprised if at first your puppy will act differently. After a short while, she surely will get used to it. You can try these three steps on how to train a puppy.

The first step you must try is to teach her the basic commands like sit, stay, heel and others. Puppies learn by repetition so spend time in doing these exercises at least twice daily. Just like humans, proper diet is also important for your pet so be cautious when selecting the brand of dog food. Also, decide where to place her bed. Much as you can, do not change this setting. And since this will be her comfort zone, you must choose a peaceful and clean corner which she can consider hers. The second easy step on how to train a puppy is to teach her the same words and phrases for similar expected result. One example of such is ...
... the phrase go potty which you should use when it's time to take her out for her toilet.

The third yet important step is to stay away from the thought of punishing your puppy heavily or shouting at her every time she did some mess. You can express your annoyance while remaining cool towards her. Why not frown and say few words, while avoiding cuddling her? On the contrary, do give her rewards and praises if she did something right. You shouldn't have a problem on how to train a puppy because all you need is to use your common sense. You can also consult some books and websites if you need so. Also, be sure to cut your sessions short and have fun during the training. Just keep your training sessions short because this span of time is more fruitful than longer, boring sessions.
