A water repelling, low energy surface which resists wetting is a hydrophobic surface. Moisture contact angle tests, when the contact angle of the water droplet reaches 90 degrees, can classify a surface as hydrophobic. Any object coated with super hydrophobic paint literally cannot be touched by liquid. Typical water contact angles (measurement of surface energy) are nearly super hydrophobic in the 115 ° -120 ° range.
